Use the Timecoil... I mean the Helisert... oh whatever!

Theres an actual ft/lb rating for spark plug tightness in your manual. You would be surprised to find they seal up tight if you just give it an 1/8th turn after hand tightening.

One more reason I use a torque wrench; too bad the PO didn't understand that steel (as in bolts and spark plugs) is stronger than aluminum (as in cylinder head and engine cases). Before deciding on which fix, you may want to check out the other threads in the engine that the PO may have damaged. If there are more it may be cheaper to buy the full kit rather than have a shop fix the problems, but if it's only 1 hole a shop may save you $$. Ed

most of the time when spark plug threads are damamged, its one of 2 things,, 1 cross thread the plug or 2 no anti sieze on the threads, when its removed the threads "gauld" together and the alum is pulled out.
