any 100% silicone you buy at lumber yard is high temp,cheaper to buy a caulking gun tube of it

In other words its the same stuff just different packaging.

By the way, any chance you can enlarge that photo, especially the one with the leopard bikini.

Thanks for posting this. I had a break in the same section of the pipe on the right side and your suggestion worked perfectly. A year later I paid twice as much for that copper fitting at Lowes.

newOld_kz1000 / nicksorg - do you have an update on the results and how long it's been on the road? I'm about to do the same as a temporary fix to get my 1979 up and running and later on replace the exhaust.

Sorry for reviving an old thread but I have the same issue. However the pictures are no longer available. Does anyone have a picture or size or something of what that fitting was?
