that is what most of the people on here say. but when you come across one that is from a 1000 kz with je 10.25 to 1 pistons and can get for less than $200.00 hone and go i have to jump

I hear that :)

It's the "what fits what" question I'm responding to. So think it over because to do it correctly, you'll need to split the cases, pull the studs and have the top case bored.

In a nutshell..... there's no free lunch :)

i understand i might buy it and if nothing else i can sell it later. the bike is getting redone now and the motor is out already so mybe i will use it?

I personally know a few guys that exchanged a 903 for a 1015 block without touching the cases, I just did mine bolted right on, so your saying someone had allready hogged the cases before me, please confirm because this would be good to no.thanks

The thing with these bikes is that they are 30+ years old. Most of them are not in original condition. With the parts interchangeability (damn that's a big word) it's not unusual to have parts from 3 or 4 different bikes making up one. To the guys putting 1015cc blocks on unbored 900 cases check your engine # you might be suprised to find 1000 cases.

I didnt have a problem with mine, it bolted right up, know for a fact engine numbers were a 900 but what i dont know is if somebody had already done a mod, but if mod was done why would they have a 903 on there?:huh:

I've personally installed a 1015 block onto a set of KZ900 cases, no prob. With a MKII crank!

Its hit or miss on kz1000 block fitting onto 900 cases i have had some that went right on and some that needed minor opening up on the upper case.
