I concur with MFolks.

What do the plugs look like right now? If sooty, the carbs may already be just fine.

Typically, a weak coil (or reduced voltage to the coils) may result in sooty plugs, even where the carbs are perfect.

In that event, replacing the coils, or getting correct voltage to coils, may resolve the sooty plug issue, without disturbing the carbs.

Imo, should do a plug reading (high speed throttle chop is best) after installing the new coils. And if plug reading is satisfactory, don't disturb the existing carb jetting.

Sounds similar to what I use. A small mirror helps too. Works very well.

any change you might see installing accell coils can be rectified by a mixture screw......if you have to re-jet, you have other problems totally seperate from the coil install......
