Yep...I'm there right now. 4 bent exhaust valves and one bent inlet valve will give you 0 compression! Perfect example of what happens when you put the exhaust cam back in 180 out! New valves arrive next week.
That's the next thing you should do. My guess is bent valves.
Bent valves will cause zero compression, been there, done that.

Cams are both in wrong. Many a valve bent on a KZ1000 from this mistake. Look at the manuals closely, then be SURE you are using the corect mark on the exhaust cam as a reference. No doubt they used the wrong mark, counted back 28 pins to the intake and both cams are wrong, then voila' turn the engine over and bend all the valves. This can be verified real quickly. Use feeler guages to check your valve clearances, any bent valves will have gobs of clearance.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Easy way to find if the valves are leaking is remove the plugs, screw the hose for the comp tester in to each hole one at a time, turn down air compressor regulator to 30psi and connect to tester hose (most have a standard industrial coupler) and making sure the cam is pointing away from the lifters see if air is leaking out the intake or exhaust port, or case if it is piston or ring problem
this is the fastest way to find a leak I know of
