Seriously speaking... You'll love the accuracy of this unit and yes, I had analog gauges originally and there's no comparison in ease of use and in the degree of accuracy...
Costs difference ~ $50....
Performance difference... Priceless...

I use guages and they work well. Be aware, however, that this is not necessarily true of bargain basement guages. Also, if you go with guages be sure they have dampers, otherwise they will be jumpy as you mentioned. Ed
Same here... I found that it's all about using the dampers correctly.
