Carb sync tool recomendations?

I decided that I am going to finally break down and buy a sync tool. I've got two bikes now that I don't plan on selling unless some unforseen disaster strikes, so I know it will pay for itself. I have been looking at the Morgan carbtune, seems like a lot of people like these. I looked at some dial setups, but a lot of guys say these are too hard to read accurately as the needles are jumpy. Any suggestions?

Morgan unit hands down....

I use guages and they work well. Be aware, however, that this is not necessarily true of bargain basement guages. Also, if you go with guages be sure they have dampers, otherwise they will be jumpy as you mentioned. Ed

Cool, I have not heard anything negative about these. Everyone seems to love them. Now the question is, can you only order them from Morgan in the UK, or is there anywhere here in the states that sells them? (I already checked Ebay)

I ordered mine directly from the UK manufacturer... Suprinsingly showed up within 5 business days... If I remember correctly, it was 4 days after I ordered...

Seriously speaking... You'll love the accuracy of this unit and yes, I had analog gauges originally and there's no comparison in ease of use and in the degree of accuracy...

Costs difference ~ $50....
Performance difference... Priceless...

I bought the Morgan Carbtune, and tried it out for the first time the other day. It is indeed a very nice instrument/tool. It was my first time balancing a rack o' four, and it wasn't the nightmare that so many people (who don't know what they are talking about, or haven't used a quality tool) say that it is. I also learned that having your carbs "bench synced" is pretty much a joke. I thought the Carbtune was defective when I first hooked it up...it was that outta whack! The only thing I thought was kind of weird about the tool was the fact that you had to measure and cut the little pieces of hose - for the money, you'd kind of expect to have it all ready to go. Not a big deal at all though. Thanks to everyone who convinced me to buy this!

Same here... I found that it's all about using the dampers correctly.

I got a motionpro mercury gauge, but you can't get that any more. Mercury's so poisonous, even Ford stopped selling it. It works much better than my homemade ATF-based gauge.
