I got mine in a metric gauge fitting kit at Autozone. There was was like three or four fittings, meant to attach an oil pressure gauge to import cars. If I can find the part number I'll post it here.

if you have a 900 or 1000 make sure the guage only reads from 0 to 10. not sure about the smaller bikes. the roller bearings only run 3 to 4 psi

Well I HAD a VDO gauge installed...until it died!
Make sure You get a liquid-filled gauge,as they can handle the vibration.Mine lasted all of about a half season before it packed it in.It *wasn't* a liquid-filled gauge, btw.

This is a little off topic. I put a Marshall 0-15 psi liquid filled gauge on, but I found when the bike was started up cold the pressure would peg the gauge. Now the needle is bent I think and it won't register when the bike is hot. I've been looking for a 0-30 gauge but no luck so far.

I've been bidding on these oil pressure kits for a while and after reading this thread, I decided to do a search for "Marshall". I found a really nice 0-15 gauge for around $30, but look what it says about the gauges:
Attention: With all liquid filled gauges, you will get a false reading, or "zero" reading, on the gauge when the engine is running at operating temperature and the oil inside the gauge is hot. Fuel pressure readings must be taken when the gauge and engine temperatures are relatively cool. Over-pressurizing gauges can damage the gauge, causing the needle to become stuck above "zero." Damage caused by over-pressurizing is not covered under warranty; for warranty information, contact Marshall Instruments at 1-800-222-8476.
Zero reading when hot!!?? Isn't that when you want to read it? Am I missing something here? This is the same gauge that came with the last kit I bid on and was advertised as "With this kit the Driver can glance down and see the Engines Oil Pressure at all levels of the engines RPM's - The entire Bandwidth, properly used this Gauge can pay for itself many times over by saving your motor if your oil pressure drops or your pump fails."
Yea, as long as the oil isn't hot!

I have an oil pressure gauge from MC Enterprises and an oil temperature gauge from Americanclassix.com. The oil pressure gauge is liquid filled does tend to read low or zero at higher temperatures so I also rely on the idiot light. But at an indicated oil temp of 60 degrees Centigrade at 3000 rpms it usually reads at 3 pounds, per factory shop manual specs. Years ago I had an S & W gauge which performed much more reliably, but unfortunately it was broken off in a crash and I never replaced it, now you can't find one. I'm interested in the Marshal brand mentioned here. Would it fit 1/8 inch pipe thread?
