83 GPz1100 is also known as 83 Zx1100, same bike it's just one is the Marketing name (GPz) and the other is the Model name (Zx1100).
83-85 GPz750 is the same way, the actual Model name is Zx750. I believe that in the Kawasaki parts diagrams, the GPz750A1 is the first bike identified by Kawasaki as a "Ninja".

no sweat wireman. I have a bit of confusion myself. when I am looking for parts and ask GPZ... somtimes i get a funny look untill I identiy as zx... sure enough when I identify it by zx I get a funny look untill I say GPz.....
All I know is that this bike spends a lot of time under my wrench (which is not the best place a bike could be!!!) And my older and more abused KZ always always is the one I can rely on (inspite of my wrenching)

i get white smoke on my Yamaha XJ750 on the collars too, but my valve cover gasket leaks there and it drips down onto the headers.
im not fixing it because its just a ride bike until KZ is done thing. then i will fix it (maybe)
