81"KZ1100 quick H.P.

i just picked up an 81"KZ1100 i need to get some bugs worked out on it,
what is the easiest way to get a little more power out of the bike cheap.
i was thinking of putting a 4into1 on it would be cool to find a good used one reasonable,i have to rebuild the carbs any way what do ya think a dyno jet kit or what should i do to get a few extra hp. reasonable

Best bang for the buck - re-gear it

the dyno jet kit won't really gain you any extra horse's but it will make the carburation a lot more enjoyable and git rid of any glitches you have.

You might try tire height or rim size?? An exhaust pipe for sure. Then I would degree the cams. Carb jetting is very important..........Just a couple of suggestions.

it depends on your Definition of cheap.
buy a set of cams and set lash.
a good header as well.

i started looking around and there is not really a whole lot of talk on the kz1100, i think it was considered more of a touring bike.
you can't find any listings for headers or anything,
even on the KZ information list on the site the bike is not listed either,there ain't much talk about the bike nowhere
and actually i think its the only KZ there ain't hardly no talk about,must of not of been one of the desirable ones
the header a guy here told to me to try one off his KZ1000
and see how it fits,how much more power would the cams and pipe give it

The same parts that will fit the KZ900, KZ1000 the GPz1100 will fit the KZ1100 in most part.

There are no cheap used headers in reasonable condition. Unless you are extreamly lucky. Just buy a new one and be done with it. Any KZ1000 header will fit. I have KZ1100s with stock exhaust and headers and I really cannot tell the difference. The header sounds like you are going faster. But then again, I am an old guy and got the go fast out of the system a long time ago......chris3
