ANYONE heard of this? I own a honwasaki. was created by School Teacher
Ok so one of the bikes that I own is a 76. well I am taking the head off of it to put on another bike so i can sell it, as the PO put a junk head on it before he sold it to me. any way i Take off the head and see some high compression piston domes though they don't look like mtc/rc or wiseco tops. so i cant wait to get the jugs off to see what they are. well they have a name on the side............... HONDA! they are larger than 1015 and smaller than 1075(didn't have calipers laying around but had some pistons i could compare directly to) any way anyone heard of this b4? was this a trick in the 80's i haven't heard mentioned before.

Old upgrade, very old. APE Jay can fill us in as he was one of the first to do it I believe - one of the early hot set ups for bigger bores were 450 Honda pistons I believe.Lang Hindle the exhaust guru used to do them too.

I once bought a cylinder block for a Z-1 that had a set of oversize ART High compression pistons. I have been attempting to find those pistons ever since. I think they were only one Millimeter oversize and took the 903 to about a 930 or something. But I wish I could find these high compression ART pistons again. They looked virtually identical to the ons you have with the exception of of having ART and not Honda molded on them.

Way back when, that was all that was available for bigger boars and higher compression. Until RC Engineering and Yoshimura started making pistons. I wanted the ART pistons, because they were original equipment and one MM over was also factory speced. This was allowed for BOX racing in the old days. Also if you sell a bike as "Factory original" it is still allowed, due to the blueprint specs. The High Compression did add quite a bit more power.

if i'm not mistaken the 450 pistons took the motor out to 1015 or 1045 i'm thinking jay could clear that up though.
