79 KZ650 engine smoking

sorry for the late reply lol. i took my carb out and cleaned it up, looks like its a needle and seat issue, parts are in the mail. tried to put the carb back on to ride around anyways and my airbox hoses were as hard as plastic and cracking etc so theyre in the mail too. i also got a seat cover, hopefully i can find a way to adhere it decently. may use spray adhesive and see how that goes. if not i have a friend that may have some idea how to help me.

i lovbe the idea of the colortune, i may pick one up. where'd you get yours?

i was hoping to have it running by the weekend to ride to my buddies wedding as best man, but we'll have to see i guess. come on z1! dont fail me now! hahah

Hey CTait, are you sure your bikes a '79? Unless your body work has been changed it's a '80 F1. I've had mine for 29 years and it's the only year with that striping. Just curious...
