Are you going to plug the ports in the head?

Nope, the '83 GPz1100 Canadian model valve cover (p/n 14025-1637) was sans the air tube and reed valve BS that the US model had.
Have you tried searching the Canadian eBay motors site for the valve cover yet?
You might also want to try on some of the other international eBay motors sites ( Australia ... France ... Germany ... United Kingdom ) to see if a seller has one listed there and is willing to ship to the US.

No prob Jim!
I just wish eBay offered a global search function.
That way you could search worldwide for that ever-elusive part/accessory and just select the ones who are willing to ship to the US.
I almost forgot!
Check out This Site
It performs a search on eBay auctions with incorrectly spelled words, and has a drop-down menu that you can use to select eBay listings in different countries too.
I've lucked out and found stuff that was incorrectly spelled, and scored killer deals being the ONLY bidder because no one else found them! :evil:

Ebay does offer a global search function.
Under search options on the left side of
the screen check the box next to "worldwide"
If anyone is interested, I can type up some
ebay search tips and post to chit-chat
let me know by PM

If you get a Canadian cover, I don't think you'll have to block the ports. The cover has little tabs that block the ports. Apparently the Canadian heads had the ports, but their valve covers just blocked them off.

sorry, it may only be the Canadian 750's that didn't have the smog ports. Someone in the other similar thread says his canadian 1000 has the smog stuff.

I looked into this a while back and the word I got was the Canadian ones didn't have all that stuff on them. I put mine back together with all the hoses and stuff, but I'd like to do without it as well, so if you find two of those valve covers, let me know.
By the way, A.P.E. makes some pretty nice covers for those holes coming out of the valve cover. I didn't get them (yet) because they were about $50, but they looked good and would eliminate a whole bunch of BS on the top of the engine. Here's a link;

ive made those blockoff plates before,ive got a 2' x 2' sheet of 1/4" aluminum around here somewhere i make them from it takes about $.50 worth of aluminum to make them,but its time consuming the way i make them.this is going on that head ive been carving on the last couple weeks so i want everything to be pretty high-end on it!its either gonna go on the turbo motor for Z1 or 1327 bike havent made up my mind yet.

I had a Canadian GPz1100 head... the head was cast with ports in it but they were not finished/drilled.
