Well, I was finally able to get a good look at my manual and the 900/1000 pumps are a standard gear pump. There are very specific clearances to measure according to the manual, so that will be the next step. Who knew! The manual had the info all along:whistle:

PREVIOUS KZs: 1980 KZ750H with 108,000 miles; 1980 KZ750E with 28,000 miles; and KZ750H street/cafe project, all sold a few years back.
This is what I do for fun, not for work. It is art, with a little engineering thrown in.

It's a fairly easy modification - any good machine shop can do this. You can even do it yourself with a ultra flat hard metal surface and some fine grinding paste.
