Help.....Engine missing at Idle

Help.....Engine missing at Idle was created by eddiem
It will clear up at half throttle maybe less,I checked the pipes and all are hot but number 4 cylinder its cooler.
I did the carbs when I first got the bike running and it ran great this just started up.
Thanks for any help

first thought, new plugs, check the plug wires, then voltage to the coils, work back to the points if you have them.
I think you will find it to be something simple

The spark plug caps can fail like this too. I'd replace all four.

mine was coils/connections related and kinda like what you describe....

What is appearance of existing #4 sparkplug's business end?
With old #4 sparkplug removed and using a new plug (out of cylinder), what is visually observed quality of spark?

Has compression test been done on #4?
Have valve clearances been checked on #4?

Has service fuel level in #4 floatbowl been checked using clear tube test method?

it could be the pilot jet as well don't miscount that just yet what kind of fuel filter do you have.

it only has the filter in the tank it is new
it does have the dyna ign the one with the box

so it has a dyna 3.try draining your carbs in to something that you can see clearly into and see if anything is in you floatbowls before you go ripping into the ignition system those dyna's are pretty trouble free usally.if there is any thing in the way of schmegma in the bowls it might be a good idea to pull the carbs and clean your pilot circuits spray carb cleaner and blow thru the pilot jets and passages with compressed air.

I did drain them but didn't catch the fuel there was some white stuff in the the bottom of the plugs cleaned em out but still didn't help

well i would be pulling off the carbs then 9times out of 10 nowadays with the fuel as crappy as it is the problem will be in the carbs dyna ignitions rarely have problems the symptoms you describe sound like carb to me and it is very easy to clean carbs. make sure you count the turns on the in on the fuel screws and remove all jets before you spray the carb cleaner and use compressed air to blow out the passages and every thing will work out allright and it shouldn't take to long.
