well, can anybody tell me which head is better? i have the 76 kz900 engine and the 73? z1 engine. also, if anybody has a 1000 engine, is that anybetter for performance than the 900 engine? how about the head, can you tell me a good combo to look for? ie: 1000 engine with 900 head; 900 engine with 1000 head; 73 vs. 76 head. i know with my car i had to find a 67 gtx head and i was wondering if kawasaki changed the head from year to year like that. thanks, ryan this is a before picture, this is how the bike is now, i paid $400 for it, a guy had it in storage for many years. but it needs some work.

build yourself what you can handle, its gonna be pretty easy to overpower a stock 900 chassis so worry about getting the chassis work sorted out before you go buildng a mountain motor it doesnt matter how fast it is if you cant stop and steer it.I went from a 125 hodaka to a basket case 900 when i was 13(27 years ago)so ive been doing this awhile when i got that first bike running i thouht i was god,my dad told me if that bike didnt scare the hell out of me everytime i cracked the throttle i better park it !ive had 1170s,1200s,even had a1428turbo that ran an 8.05 at topeka with no slick or bar(I knowfaaaaaaaast)take it from me let this bike evolve over a period of time and keep it drivable you will have a lot more fun and it will teach you a lot.goodluck ,have fun and be safe.if need anyhelp with questions let me know wireguy1@aol.com
