Mac 2 into 1 on my kz 400 bobber was created by oldkaws4ever
Ok, after playing around with the jetting on my kz 400 with drag pipes for a while, i gave up and ordered a 2 into 1 fully chromed mac exhaust. The drag pipes sounded and ran awsome awsome up to like 5000 rpm's then started breaking up. So hopefully the mac 2 into 1 will be easier to tune in. I have heard the 2 into 1's blue really easy but that dosent bother me i like the blueing affect. Any ideas what size jets will work? Stock engine, and airbox with drop in K&N filter. Thank's Jim.

I put Macs on my 750 twin and they dialed in with stock main jets, one size over on the pilot jet, and I had to go a slot rich on the needles.

I have no idea if it's the same for the 400.

people shoot down that mac pipe but as far as i'm concerned we don't have much in the way of options do we and anyway i happen to like the look of that 2-1 pipe for the twins. and it's cheap .

no, no real options, especially for the twins. I like the 2 into 1 look also. But the sidewinder will look awsome on the z1......lol And the kerkers are close to what 600 bucks i duuno about you but i dont have 600 bucks to shell out for a pipe.

I actually like the sound. Mine are more like a throaty roar than the usual howl a rice burner makes. Not too loud, sound OK to me.

I don't and I'm on a dial up connection so it would probably take a week to download a picture.

The pipes look good, except for the dark blue at the header curve which I don't mind but some people don't like.

My gripe is my pipes leak exhaust at the joints where they fit together. You probably need header sealer if you want them tight, I just ignore the leaks.

I should add I got these used so new ones might not leak. Be sure to use new exhaust gaskets.

ya, tell me about it, over 600 bucks for a kerker for the 900's and 1000's. 1500 bucks for the reproduction 4 into 4 z1 900/kz 900 stock pipes......they are purdy though, thank god i have a nice rust free set of orignal 4 into 4's for my z1 in the garage. Just a FYI, i payed $223 dollars shipped for my 2 into 1 mac for the kz 400, at a place called jcmotors.com.
