U have to think that at 65000mls. u need a total rebuild for sure.even if it runs good now. but what ever bike u get u will likely need a rebuild anyways.see if u can find out if it had a valve job ?
if it is guttless it probably needs pistons too.U cant just rering at 65000mls.
About $500 for pistons, $100 for bore.$100 gaskets.$500 valve job Guides,seals.shocks?.clutch$100.$100 clean carbs. These prices are ball park.
unless u REALY want a clasic, u might be better off with a gold wing or something. What can u buy for $3000 these days?

Well, I decided to pass on the bike. Mainly because my wife took a ride with me on it and has now decided she doesn't want to ride. :S It's really not my speed for just myself. I was hoping we could do some little trips together and have fun, but after her little brother was almost killed in '05, she just doesn't have the interest. I guess I can't blame her. I grew up riding, so it's in my blood. I can't stop.

If you guys are interested, the bike is listed on craigslist sometime around July 23rd under Wichita, Ks directory. The owner's name is Pat and is a super nice guy.
Thanks for all your input.
