You need to bake that stuff to cure it or the sudden heating from the inside will flake it off. I used to paint my headers with it.

Just kidding about the "gay" stuff. Its going to turn really ugly when it gets hot, I dont care what paint you use on it. I dont eevn think powder coating or porcelanizing would hold up long. I could be wrong though. Its not for me but its your bike if you like it

The black hi temp paint holds up the best. You do have to bake it to cure it, especially in the area near the exhaust ports.

Ok....I'm curious....doesn't look like it will fit in an oven, so what are you supposed to use to "bake it"?? A heat gun???

For one time, I made a solar oven: large cardboard box that i painted black inside. I set the headers inside and cover it with heavy clear plastic and let the sun cook it for a couple of days. In summer, the inside would get up to maybe 180F that way.

The best way I found was using my small woodburning stove: get a hot fire going and set the headers with the port end up near the opening of the stove and cook it that way. Stinks the room up a little.

I had my exhaust sandblasted and High Heat Powder coated this Spring.
So far she's holding up.
Better last some years as it cost $200 to have it done.

Anyone tried PJ1 VHT on headers yet? Supposedly uses engine heat to set the paint?
