GPZ1100B2 Oil pressure switch
16 Apr 2008 11:49
Hi,
Can someone tell me where is located the oil pressure switch on a 1982 gpz with fuel injection.
The wiring diagram shows one somewhere but it's located like a kz1000r where the oil cooler connect.
Thanks for your help

You have answered your own question correctly:cheer:! The switch is the white plastic piece that threads into the oil cooler bypass/connector. It goes in the big threaded hole in the picture. The picture is of a GPz1100 bypass so yours should look the same. Hope this helps.
Regards.

Don't know what to say to that...try the Kawasaki Parts lookup

You could maybe drill and tap a hole and use an aftermarket sensor??

I think I found it. Look like it is on the oil pan. Will check tonight on my GPZ motor now that I know where to look.
I'm installing the oil cooler on the kz1000j, so I will need to swap oil pan if I want the oil pressure switch to work and probalby extend the wiring.
Thanks for your help!

I'm fairly certain that the oil pan sensor is for "oil level" and not pressure. I could of course be wrong...good luck with it either way!

Why not just find and use another bypass, like the one I pictured for you, that utilizes the screw-in type pressure switch like the 1100R and 1000J; it will most certainly fit, and your problem is solved??
Just a thought...

I already got the pressure switch form the kz1000j that I could fit on the gpz1100 oil connector.
I was just a little anxious to do permanent damage to the gpz part by trying to drill a hole and doing new tread for the pressure switch.
Did someone did this before with success?

Look at the diagram "crankcase" and it shows the switch right where tuxodito shows, right on top of the adapter thing. The strange thing is they show 2 different possibles, one adapter than has the switch and one that does not. It may be that it only has the level, and no pressure switch on some of the GPZ1100? Strange.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
