Thats ugly,, how bad is the cyl,, looks like it will need to go to oversize to me,,,,, big bore here we come

On that note.. can I do the one, or should I do all 4?

What are my best options, and what should I expect through the process?

Oh..and the grooves in the cylinder are bad..around .5-1mm in depth at the top.

Do all four,, and in addition you need to get the head checked,, I think you will find some metal on the valves also,, which will require a valve job on the head..

Well I've been speaking to APE already, so we'll see what happens.. I'm going to investigate a high-performance machinist in my area first, and then if that pans out, figure out if I want to invest in getting the engine back in order, or just part it out and find myself a nice affordable Kawi Ninja 650R.

Bummer! I also found it odd that the "fence" was solid as I have only seen perforated ones. Then again I didn't know any ere supposed to go on top of the filter. Just when you think you seen/know it all!:woohoo:

Hey..Just bringing this puppy back up top to say - de-winterize properly, and I'm gonna be rebuilding it this year, so all design ideas can be sent along.

If I decide to bob it, or at least chop the frame back a bit, is it enough to get a welder to put a support piece between the frame just behind the suspension mounts, midway through the gussets, or should I have him do it at the back of the gussets?

I have a KZ100st e1 I know my oil filter spring is missing the washer, is this washer what they call the spring seat? I'm not sure how important that part is but my bike is missing it?
