Does any one think i will need to degree the cams for only taking 25 thous off the head. I am putting gpz 750 cams on a kz 650.

1978 kz 650b with gpz faq mods cams carbs polished and ported
1979 gs750e
1972 bsa lightning under construction

I dont know were to buy slotted sprockets for the gpz 750 cams

The head on my 1000 was milled about .030" and when I degreed the cams they really needed adjusting. Now, I never had them degreed before the milling, but I was told my the builder to definitely degree them since it was milled.

Like wire..uh I mean plummen said, you can modify your stock sprockets with a little old fashioned elbow grease;)

You don't have to elongate the holes very far, .020" (or .5mm) should be enough.

Actually it can help to "degree" even a stock setup if you want the best tune you can get. You really don't know where the cams "actually" are, until you put on the wheel and indicator. Even all stock can vary a few degrees and is often the reason why one complete stocker always seems to run better than another otherwise complete stocker.
