c'mon zippy, a streetable motor is what the guy wants, and no, driving it around the block is not streetable :P

if you bore it you'll have to bore the cases too, i got lucky and was able to fit 1100 sized liners in just by filing some of the flashing off, however you have a 900.

a 1170/1197/1200 is a good fun streetable motor as long as its low (10:1 compression:S you'll need an oil cooler and possibly a fan for long stoplights.

Zippy;
Some of those companies don't even make that stuff anymore. I believe we are the only ones that make the aluminum cam end plugs and steem main support cap. I don't think Manley has made motorcycle parts in years.

I rode a 1015 set up with .435 cams
and 29s once.What a high rpm screemer.
Brians Kawasaki of Breedsville,Mi built
it.They told me to shift it at 11,500
and that is where it pulled the best.

I am getting ready to assemble a 1000 motor, and the previous owner already has a set of 1015 wiseco high comp. pistons. Are these pistons pretty good, or are the 1075-1200 pistons a huge difference. I want to build this motor right and am willing to drop a littly coin. What are your opinions. Sorry for the thread jack

My 76 900 motor is an 1105 now, built by Superbike Mike in the late 70's in Ft Lauderdale Fl. Its got a sleeved block, SBM 20 cams, 395 lift 260 duration, 10.25 - 1 pistons, SBM street ported head, Kerker pipe , Dyna S, coils & wires and 29mm smoothbores. Still going after all these years and still hauls **s. Original cost paid by a buddy in Fla was $4500, I got it for the cost of shipping to Montana which was $600 for the whole bike. Your cost may vary. Its not state of the art, just leftover old school and very streetable.

My dream motor is one that does not leak oil all over my pants leg on a hot day. The current motor only does it when the temp is over 100......When I had my Z1, I wanted to send the motor to Yasurma (sp) for a build but never could afford it....chris3
