Changing the orings is just a waste of time and effort. Use the Kawasaki factory filter or the Honda. I didn't know Honda made 5 either, which is strange, but a filter for a Honda GL1200 Aspencade is what I use. Used to be you could buy these on sale from some of the Goldwing places where you buy all the rediculous add on rigs the guys add. I bought like 50 of them yrs ago that way.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Thanks everyone for the information - I had no idea that what I thought was a small question had so much detail behind it. Good discussion...

Unless they're leaking!  ;)

If they are included with the filter I figure it's worth 2 minutes of my time (0.02 dollar) :)

Trust me, they won't leak. The garbage orings included with the aftermarket filters? Now that's another question, if you initially put the garbage on, better replace them every time with new garbage. :) OK, sorry, but I'll say if you use Kawasaki factory orings, no need replacing for anywhere from 50-100k miles is when they start to leak.

Last time I checked, the STP looked like it was made by the same company making the Purolator KZ filter.

I wonder if any of those others are made by Fram? You may have to buy a Fram filter, label it, never use it, but keep it as a sample of what NOT to use. If you buy another brand that looks identical, avoid it. :) Too bad that'll help Fram sales.

Ahhh, This list may be more important than the first list. Thanks again!
