I think he ment this aluminum fan...

I meant the Muzzy's aluminum fan. If you go with a sportbike style fan for the oil coller its probably gonna run close to the pipes. If you go with the Aluminum fan you won't take the chance of the fan blades melting. you'll still need the motor and housing from the original fan with the muzzy's unless they make a whole kit. I've just seen the fan itself ever. Plus the Muzzy's are a good bit more efficient from what I've heard. That said I still run the two stock fans on my TLR.
You'd def want a toggle switch on your handlebars to control the fan as you'll have no coolant temp switch. Alot of guys wire them manual anyways. My TLR fans don't come on to well over 225 degrees with the temp switch. Which is weel over the threshold for a toasted crotch.

IMHO i think the oil cooler would provide more cooling than a fan pointing at the engine. and if you are desparate to put a fan i would then mount it to the oil cooler.

i just looked up what cfm the transmission cooler for my truck would move and its only 400 cfm. So 112cfm has to be more then enough.

i did not think the FZR 600 had the Genesis head, it had the genesis design with the canted cylinders but no 5 valve, but hey i could be wrong, i thought you had to get to the fz750 and bigger to get that.

I'm pretty sure your right about the head. I meant the overall design canted so far forward.
Oil cooler is def a better option than fan alone. I was thinking both oil cooler and the fan for max cooling.

How much work is installing an oil cooler? Will I have to take off more than the tank?

mostly wiremans hidden fan idea.
then i would not be so scared to run a higher compression engine in traffic.
i like the idea of a stealth setup.
got any pictures or diagrams of your idea?
i would like it to be functional but not a eyesore.
hell, if we do this right we can patent it and make some money!
 :woohoo:
someday i will be able to afford my kz habit.
