can this be fixed reasonably or i am sol was created by udder
ok had problem with idle and with the help of others went through some things to correct. sprayed around boots and found i had a leak letting air in. well i took the boots off to inspect and one of the inner boots came off well with a little more than the boot. the bottom bolt ear for the carb boot came off with the boot. see pics. will dry fit right back into place but can it be jb welded??? what are my options.

I think your SOL… Sorry
You might get away with JB Weld for a while, but it will eventually give up when you least need it to.
There are a lot of cool adhesives on the market now tho.
Your best bet would be to use the EBay link and search for kz1000 boots. There are some nice ones with a current bid of $6.95 with 1 day and 7 hours left. Of course they will go up but you could get lucky.

Are you saying it's the head?
I think we need more pics... that looks like the boot flange that screws to the head

Udder, I don't know, but if it were me, I'd be looking for someone with a TIG welder that's good with aluminum. And use the old boot as a locator when he tacks the piece back on. Short of that, you're looking at buying another head I'd think.

I think that could be welded and it would be fine. you might want to make sure its flat with a file before you put on new boots and attempt to fire it up. maybe some sort of "glue" would help solve the problem if its welded and not perfectly flat. "seal all" would be my choice as its supposed to be fine with gas and oil. i patched a metal dirtbike gas tank with the stuff once. IIRC silicone will fail after awhile if exposed to gas.

I had one break like that years ago, I j b welded it, with a new carb boot on, still there, but I know it can give up at any time, make sure both surfaces are super clean and make sure you put pleanty of it on the outside too

eeeeeeeeeeeek!!!!!!! i thought it was just the boot! if you try and epoxy it clean it really good first with acetone .get your new boot and put a bead of clear silicone on mating surface and bolt it to head to use it as a guide for remounting broken piece jb weld or whatever you find the broken piece back on and tighten bottem bolt best you can and let it sit 24hrs the build up the outside some more try to make it look as decent as possible let it dry some more before installing carbs.save your money so you can have another head done up later;)
