Ok, I guess I am going to do this job myself. Is there anything else I need to order other than the valve cover gasket, head gasket and new chain guide? Any special tools I should be aware of? I have the CD rom manual, but it can be pretty unclear sometimes.
Thanks.
Thanks.

no special tools required...you dont have to remove the cam chain just dont let it fall down into the bottom cases.i tied mine to the top of the frame until i got the cylinders off of the pistons and then put a screw driver through the chain so it couldn't fall.... oh you will also need a base gasket.

I had to use an impact driver with an extra long bit to remove the screw holding the guide in. It was in there real tight.
While you're in there, also take a look at the cam chain tensioner assembly. Mine had the metal worn through, and it was coming apart. You can also get these from Z1 Enterprises.

You'll need a head gasket as well.Also...while You have the head off,You should pull the valves out and lap them, and replace the guide seals as well. The seals are cheap, and You'd be a Fool not to replace them now, while You have it all apart.Chances are, they're old and dried out.Lapping the valves and having a good look through the head is a good idea...peace of mind.

Maybe even throw a set of rings in it while you have it apart.

You may as well order a complete gasket kit from Jeff at z1e.Its cheeper than seperate 1's, and you will have all the side cover gaskets and valve seals and exhaust o rings and and and and.....
