By zooming the image 400% I was able to see that the other two bearing shells are still in the head, and that piece on the right of the bottom photo in your first post looks like it's a piece of the bearing on the right side of the head. I have never seen a bearing shell so shiny, it looks like it has worn through the babbit and the copper, and is working on the base now.
Here is a pic of a bearing shell, although a different design than yours, it will give you an idea of what they are supposed to look like.
Do a search for babbit bearing shells, lot's of interesting reading.
