I'll post a couple pics of the exhaust tonight. Its more of a megaphone type than the one WG posted.

10 Feb 2007 16:58The finish is actually a gloss black. Its pretty durable, and cleans up easily. Batteries are dead in my camera right now, but if I can find 4 charged AA's around here I'll get you some close ups. No problems getting to the oil filter or drain plug either.

Just so everyone here knows I checked with Jet Hot coatings as to the cost of doing a motorcycle exhaust. Is everyone sitting down? $195.00 plus the cost of return shipping. They appear to have a really nice looking product and since it turns out that the KZ750-L3 I just bought comes with a rusty crusty black Kerker pipe I thought about using them to coat it. But $195 plus seems a bit high. In my mind I'm gonna have a hard time justifying spending two thirds of what I paid for the entire bike just to coat a header:S . That sterling coating they do would look real nice on that bike though. Am I just being too cheap or what?

Well as we all know money is always a factor. From what I have seen a new Vance and Hines will run about $300.00. I'm not sure if a Kerker is even still available but I'm guessing if it is they are over $400.00.
I like the look of a chrome pipe until you fire it up and the headpipes turn blue :pinch:. A header painted flat black IMHO would look like shit on this bike. I guess what I would like is a period correct Kerker pipe (which I currently have) that looks as good as chrome but doesn't turn blue. I did find a couple of other places that do high temp ceramic coating, one wants $140.00 and the other one I haven't checked into yet.

Those look really nice WG!
Did you have the coating done prior to first use, or after running them on your bike for some time?
It'd be nice to know since the original coating on my Mac 4-into-1 is a nasty rough, flat black texture.
I'm thinking that if I engraved all the EPA and other info found on an OEM Kawi exhaust onto my Mac and had it coated like that, I just might be able to convince the local po-po into thinking it's the original exhust and avoid a fix-it ticket if I were to get pulled over. :woohoo:
