Do yu copper coat everything wireman? It would be alot easier. My buddy used that stuff on everthing he got his hands on in his auto shop, swore by it on oil pan gaskets. One day in his grandfather's garage he used it on the float bowl gasket for a motorcraft carb from a 390cu. I had to look the other way and shake my head.

ehhh, I'd also have to look away and shake my head when some one smears a gasket with silicone.

Well i,ll take your bate on that one son, as you've never had a leak on the corner of your gas tank by the seat that you tried to seal with silicone and it always rubbed off, letting yu know what silicone is capable of and not. And that's why "wireman" and notice the non capitol letterism that i use here, that it doesn't work with gas. I would hope would not use it like a child too so i know you do good ok. That's covered now onto
Mr. smear. If you look away every time, how do you expect to learn how to smear and how not too? Have you done this? Take a ride on a bike with silicone on the hole in the tank, see how long you last walking home. Get me now? Or, get me later, it's up to you. I'm talking from experienc only, not word power. I've been there,I know.

carb gaskets go on dry, smart smear everything else. Watch that finger it might fall off without copper spray. Was it ever really attached anyway? Probly not, that's why you have to be sure. Yu looked, yu seen, yu should know. DID you look? DO you know? Hey man did you see in the first place?

No reason to ever use sealer on a paper gasket. If you clean the old gasket off completely it will never leak no matter how "aggressive" you had to get. Of course if chunks of aluminum 1/4" thich were broken off the gasket surface, this is another story, but scratches from scraping off the old gasket will never leak.
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
