AHRMA Vintage Weekend @ Road America

I'll be up there Fri-Sunday, camping Saturday night weather permitting. Anyone else going?

Fun times. Rained on us on the way up in the <50F weather and most of the evening on Friday, cold but drier on Saturday, and a beautiful day on Sunday.

I don't fully get the odd classes they have like Sound of Singles, Battle of the Singles, Battle of the Twins, and BEARS where they can run modern bikes, but it was cool to see all the old racer bikes. A Z1R won both Superbike Heavyweight races which was also cool.

Camera wasn't fast enough and was missing a few X's on the zoom to get a good pic.

Turn 5 is always a fun spot to watch - fast downhill, into a 90 degree uphill section.

A very clean MKII. Had velocity stacks and flat slides among other goodies.

They had this cool program going on where they had a mentor work with a group of high school kids to build up some Honda CB160's into GP racers. The bikes turned out really slick too - wish they would have had this when I was in school...

















Got to talk with one of the mentors (he was working with the Port Washington, WI High School group) and it sounded like a great program for the kids.
