Yes, he and I had been in contact about photos of a KZ400 that I once had as I had intentions of updating an old rally site I had to have a little section about the bikes I had owned (didn't have any photos of my bike due to an ex-wife). He sent me some and then just as I was about to ask for more of a certain one I got the news of his untimely death. Really bothered me as he was always so laid back and just a nice guy, plus he was about my age. Rest in Peace King of Makadam.
