Dude the bottom line is,

Yeah I was thinking this earlier. Elbow grease sucks?

My current compressor is a big one but I did blasting for many years using a Campbell Hausfeld 2hp/20 gallon jobby. It's a little slow but doable. Pressure is as high as you can get away with given the air you have. 80+ psi if possible.

Air tank is to small.
I use this kind of compressor, need less or same room as yours and comes with a lot of accessory parts for 120 Euro.

You are going to have to spend around $1000 to get a compressor that will run even a small bead blaster or soda blaster without stopping continuously to let it build air. If you don't keep a steady pressure you get an uneven result. Think of it like this, however big your air line is it's like punching a hole that big in the side of your compressor and seeing if it will keep up.

Dude! A main sponsor at the top of the page! RESTOCYCLE! Nils, does great work! Where Ya' been?

Well, I've been railing away in my garage in Colorado. I frequent the site but I've never heard a reference to RESTOCYCLE. I looked at their site, impressive.

Spot blasting can be done with a smaller compressor but realize that those really small units are not designed to run all the time and doing so with them will damage the parts. My old Campbell Hausfeld compressor uses a cast iron pump. It's not rated for a 100% duty cycle but I ran it that way regardless when blasting and it held up for many years regardless.

I have an 80 gallon compressor and it constantly runs using any blaster. I also have one of those pancake compressors, they ARE NOT used for blasting type tools, even pneumatic rotary tools. They are for nailers/staplers only...maybe an airbrush.

For soda blasting I get away with a homemade blasting gun, just a 1/2" tube stuck on a air nozzle and a box of baking soda from the supermarket. Soda will not remove grease, you have to thoroughly clean and degrease the part first then soda blast and wash with soapy water.
I blast out in my parking lot and let the wind clean it up.
