Opinions vary on what is artistic modeling to an "inappropriate" or an item that is a possession or possessed. Its just a pic of a model. It's how a father will raise his son to respect women for their beauty and their mind as an equal. Now back to our regularly scheduled program.

My 7 year old son is growing to love bikes and we were following my post together, looking at the pics of ppl and their marvelous bikes, until you posted this. I cant scroll through this and let him see the pics anymore. Im teaching him to respect, and not objectify women. The subtext of this photo is women and bikes are possessions. There's a big difference between a motorcycle and a woman and I just dont dig this. Sure I want him to be like any other red blooded male and appreciate the stunning beauty of a woman, but not like this, not some woman draped across a bike with nearly nothing on. This is a still photo of what goes on in a strip club and posted in poor taste. . Im not perfect and Im not judging you, but this is light porn and completely inappropriate and immature, Not happy with this at all. We all love vintage bikes and they still have a place in the world, but not a vintage mindset.....or vintage values of this kind. I dont have a daughter yet but my god i would never want her to think posing like this is cool, or that she is any mans possession

Its also what a child is exposed to, which is why so many children go off the rails outside of their parents guidance. My point is, i dont want my son exposed to the objectification of women which is what makes college campuses so dangerous, and has fostered and attitude of disrespect toward women that is rampant in american culture.

That is disrespectful and childish. If more ppl cared about how we are raising kids and what we teach them (respect, cooperation and also STRENGTH), our country would be united. And no, that is not a swipe at our President, this is a swipe against the EVIL that is trying to corrupt our world.and especially our children.

its ok to own bikes, but if we worship them and incorporate them into part of our self worth, what happens when we cant ride them? What happens when we crash the bike which we spent inordinate amounts of money and time building? What happens when we lose what our self worth is tied up in? What then? What happens when we get too old (im pretty young btw) to ride? Who are we then?

I saw a friend fo mine go through this recently when he lost every bike he owned. He was a bit lost.

If we value ourselves by how many hot women we get, what happens when, as we get super old, our testosterone drops and we cant even perform anymore? Who are we then? What good is staring at porn or semi-porn if we cant even please a woman in our old age?

The Mind and Self-Esteem of the American Male is built on the quicksand of "what you own, how much you make, how fast or expensive your car is, how loud your pipes are, whether you can beat the guy in the car next to you, etc" In college its how many girls you sleep with. All things that destroy our culture through misplaced values.

When the financial crisis fell upon use and ppl lost it all, they also lost their minds because they believed they WERE their job, their house, their car, their vacation spot, their jewelry and watches. All gone and they lost it.

In re the Hillery comment

Its amazing how ppl reduce everything to politics and "oh you must be a liberal." No its not that. Its that Im a CHRISTIAN and this offends my idea of what is right. I hope I made that clear so ppl who have an ax to grind with ppl of the "liberal persuasion" and seek to take silly swipes at them (a thing which is dividing this country) would stop it.

Its as simple as this. I dont want my son to see women in a certain light, and if I had a daughter, I would NOT want her posed that way.

JWKZ750, I'm not offended by the photo with the model. But agree, I wouldn't want my 9 year old to see it. Also, if someone is going to post, they should stay on point to the spirit of the OP's original post / request.

When I saw the the post in question, I was not offended per se, but thought that the post was not relevant to the topic of which the original poster requested. Seemed like the thread got hijacked. We had similar off topic hijacked threads in the past. I would post a serious post and the thread would turn into a series of posts solely placed for comic relief. The original message gets lost. For me, it reduces my interest in contributing any future posts. In the Daily Chatter section, a post with lightly a clad model might be a better suited area.

I bet you guys are a lot of fun at parties! Quite prudish in my opinion. I see nothing wrong with appreciating beauty, both the bike and the women. I think it was light hearted and I was looking forward to more of the same. There will be no fun in Hooville now.

I think if you have ever seen some of my past Leesburg Bikefest posts (which include the Bikini contest from the RatHole pavilion), you wouldn't see me as being prudish, LOL. My point was simply about staying on topic. Love the link you posted by the way. The title of this thread is pretty clear, "Post a RECENT pic of YOU and your KZ". So unless the bikini clad girl stretched across the bike is davido, then I think the post missed the mark.

Davido, most of us know you were being silly and I chuckled when I read you caption. You have to laugh every so often. There are so many horrible things going on in our country. We need that sense of humor to keep us from our daily stress. We love our classics. Its our hobby and it makes us enjoy part of our day to come on here and see the diverse bike taste that we have. Love this Forum. Its been such a big help with the knowledgeable people on here that have personally helped me with advice on my build. Tom
