Someone not far from me is selling a 1976 KZ900 with 31K miles. The body of the bike is immaculate, but Im concerned with the mileage. Hes asking for $4,000 which I think is excessive. Do you think that is a fair price? Here is the bike:

That's way too-much...
What is the address and phone number where the bike is located?

I was going to ask if $10 would hold it.

If the bike has no problems, it is an excellent price. As long as you don't have to invest anymore into it. To give you an idea, I purchased mine for $700.00 and put around $2800 additional expense into it to get iit to the current condition. With countless of hours of my own labor involved. So, pretty close to your $4000.00 mark. However, you get a turn key bike with original paint (even if repainted, it keeps the orginal look). Whereas mine is just all black in order to keep costs down at the time. So you are way ahead of the game and can immediately start frequenting bike nights and rides. Congrats!

Well you could ship it to the U.K. and it would fetch more than double that. Consider yourselves lucky over there. Spares prices are equally expensive.

I sure as Hell would not take $4000.00 for my 77' KZ1000!

I don't blame you; that's a great looking bike!

I find it amusing the the OP was concerned about 31k miles. My KZ650 has more than 60k miles and has never had any engine work done. I believe RONKZ650 put more than 160k miles on his with no engine work. 31k is still a baby. Ed

My KZ900 has over 70,000 miles and I've only had to replace the valve seals...B)

I live near Portland, Oregon and my rider is a '76 KZ900 I bought new. I'm also in the process of restoring another one and a '73 Z1.
