Notice the bids are in Canadian dollars and not U.S. dollars. Price is at about $5,400 U.S. dollars right now.

The seller cracks me up! He states "Showroom condition" and then gives a long list of non-stock stuff that he put on the bike including wheels, brakes, exhaust, carbs, etc., etc. I'm not saying the bike is not nice because it is a nice bike, but I find it strange that the seller felt compelled to say it was in showroom condition when it has been modified far from showroom condition. Check out the return line on the oil cooler. Why would you pull oil from the main oil feed that goes to the head, and then after the oil cooler dump it into the spinning clutch. Why would you divert some of the oil flow to the head?? The top end is the part of the KZ motor that needs the most oil.

All that fancy chassis goodies, and a STOCK motor!!!!!!

Plus them funky wave front brake rotors!!! God I hate them things with a passion!!!!

I agree! All that work and money, then >no air cleaner< , and in effect >no oil pressure< , since his oil cooler "upgrade" dumps any oil pressure it might have had back into the crankcase via that >slipping clutch<. A thoroughly UPGRADED bike! LOL

Will be a total disappointment to whoever might buy it. :-(

'79 (maybe '80 model?) Kz750twin parts bike very cheap.
Crown Point, Indiana.
If the story is true, someone might get a really good deal on an almost/complete bike in pieces.

It also looks all original and an easy fix IMHO. All stock. Mentions nothing about the title, sooo as-u-ming it is not there, You can apply to the Illinois secretary of state to get the registered owners info for the abandoned vehicle process in MO. (old kaw was an IL registered bike) If it weren't so far away, I might pursue it. it definitely needs an intervention to keep it from ending up in pieces.

I fail to see the connection here my friend. A 09 harley dresser for $11K? It might be a good deal in some circles, but then again it's chicago in the dead of winter too. Bikes tend to get cheap when the weather is cold when a car wold be more desirable.

I liked the HD
But I Loved the Trailer. Wow , that is really like a fifth wheel for a bike. Need lots of torque to pull that around

I have been looking at touring bikes and that one just came up, it looks like a well taken care of machine for a decent price.
The trailer is cool looking but it would make me nervous hauling in the wind or up in the mountains, I wonder if the trailer has brakes?

That is a neat looking trailer. I didn't even notice it when I first glanced at the ad. Just imagining the extra 500-1K lbs pushing you down a wet road when some dipstick pulls out in front of you. I doubt the trailer has brakes, but it might. 40K miles on a 10 year old bike seem to be high miles to me, but perhaps not too bad on that model. Some might consider it just broke in. :-) lol

I have trouble keeping my bike upright some days (without a trailer) , such as last week when I had to run to NAPA in the slush / rainy snow to replace the Chinese Delphi OEM fuel pump that didn't make 15K miles.

40 ,000 miles on that bike is not bad at all.
My friends have from 75 to 120 thousand on some of their HDs with little or no issues. Just do normal maintenance and chug along forever.
My brother hauls a trailer like that from Michigan to Sturgis and back with his dresser with no problem. But his trailer is a box.
Not a beauty like the one shown 11 Grand for bike and trailer is a fair deal

I always feel like we are kind of cheating when we trailer the bikes out to a beautiful area to camp, we have done a bunch of 1 or 2 night trips on the bikes before but riding at highway speeds 1200 miles one way with no windshield is a trip unto its self :S Plus its nice to go somewhere and stay comfortably for a week in a big tent on cots with a heater :P
a bike and trailer like that could probably get us there.

I tend to agree on the cheating thing. When I went to Sturgis in 79 we hauled the bikes and all of our camping gear in a van, and slept in it too. It was a pretty wild night in the campground with some crazy fkrs partying and raising cain all nite.

Now days a lot of folks drive a nice pusher diesel with internet, dish, full kitchen and a fully stocked workshop in the box trailer.

What ever happened to strapping on a sleeping bag with a gas can hanging off the back? This is the exact way I migrated to the lou from a north iowa farm town on my harley. I had to have a gas can, because coffin tanks just don't hold much gas, and those cheap petcocks do not have a reserve . :-)
