Not sure which one I like better. They are both just so perfect.

Congrats!

Is the Z1B original paint?

I built a KX250 factory replica that won in a bike show in my town. I beat out $20-30k choppers. haha

Les you're right about the show experience. I have shown up on the ltd at a few Harley meets and the reaction is much the same. Most of them guys who own Harley's, and I'm one of them, I own and love riding a 2009 HD Electra Glide Classic, at one point owned or knew or ran around with someone who had an old KZ. To see them walk up to the Z1 or KZ with that smirk or smile makes for a cool moment. It seems most of them graduated on to the Harley scene and as I said I'm one of them too but I kept the Kawasaki's.

KidKawie yes the paint on the Z1 is original. The parts that aren't original OEM but reproduction to the bike are mirrors, rear passenger pegs, Continental Classic tires, seat, 4 into 4 pipes and the grab rail. Everything else is as it left the dealer.

z1kzonly you may have sent some parts my way. I spent 26 years in Nome Ak. but moved to Anchorage 4 years ago so if it was fairly recently, well yup pretty good chance I'm the happy buyer. Also I have 2 sets of Jardine pipes for the ltd, one's in near mint shape the other is a bit rough. I had them on for a few months but prefer the Kerker just because. The motor seems to prefer it also.

Thanks again for all your encouragement and nice words. I have been into KZ's and Z1's since I was 16 and I'm now 53. They are just a cool bike and antique or not there isn't a more bad ass bike around than a hot rod KZ or a mint original Z1. I'm lucky to be the caretaker of both for now.

Nice!

It's because your winning bike was RED! RED always wins, against similar condition, different color, bikes!

COOL!...Way to go!! My '76 LTD has 4 trophies from small local shows in Classic division the last cpl years. 2 are from the Boozefighters when they do their annual 'overnitghter' near here. (but Rosie's trophies aren't half the size of the bike)! hehe! Nice for a low mileage original that's only been repainted to factory specs back in the '90's. Other than that and the tires, plugs n oil all else is orig. ......................................Mike
