Congratulations Doc, you deserve it.

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

Yea, many thanks for posting about the painter, Blake Conway. I know I never would have found him without your posting. I grew up around road race cars, so road racing was in my blood from a very young age. I never could or would ever afford to race cars, so motorcycles were my choice. It was a bunch of fun unless you hit the ground!!!

Talk about drag racers. One of my friend's best friends was the late Dave Schultz. At the dealer show, we would always get together for lunch or dinner a few times each year. I have never met a nicer person than Dave Schultz in my life. What a human being.

I love it. Good job. I always thought the MKII was the most awesome looking racebike ever. Not many raced them, but they were cool. There was a doctor from Wyoming that rode a MKII in AMA races back in the day Dr Dave Keifer, who was a real doctor.

321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.

Bob, you did such an awesome restoration of your old race bike.

A very a cool story. A racer restores his old racebike...and properly!
