On the contrary, you have an amazing bike! Love the race history you guys been discussing. Where did that the crash took place? I lived in Florida during the late seventies and early eighties. Had plenty of opportunities to go to Daytona but always flew back to Michigan for spring break instead. Missed out. Could have possibly seen an S1 in action at Daytona I would guess if I would have attended bike week during that period.

You wish.....LOL!!!! Don't worry, I have plenty of mates here and o/s that have kindly offered to take the bike out for a run on the track. The main worry is, if it did fall over, things that I can't get anymore might get broken. When I got the bike in from Canada, I got the seller to take off the magnesium magneto engine cover and post it to me seperate from the bike. Old magnesium shatters very easily. I have had bikes damaged as they go through Customs ( like my R2 with a brand new paint job, and I got it with a deep gouge in the front fender.... ) and I could visualise one of the flat footed Customs or agent tripping over their feet and smashing the cover. There would be no way I could get another, even knowing that 2 people have one each still in their original NOS bag. So it will stay as a show piece in #1 bedroom for now, thanks 'zikzonly'.

Sorry for late reply, Scirocco - been away from the pooter ( computer ). I am not one who takes a lot of photos, I have the original Ebay photos the seller put on, some photos when the transport truck unloaded the bike at my place before it got pushed into the house in daylight and a couple of photos inside. I could post some of those if you like, I suppose. Right now the bike is about 1/3rd pulled apart - started in Winter ( here ) but when the weather got warmer ( you know, 108-112 degrees... ) I went outside to work on the race car, got its first run just before Christmas, had it for 18 months...!! As for starting it, ain't gonna happen. This engine hasn't been started in over 25 years!!! Quick question to you - why the comment and arrow pointing towards the mop and bucket? That is there because I wipe down the race deck tiles in the bedroom that the bike sits on, they get a bit dusty with time. Do you have an aversion to cleaning products....?

Really? I must be slipping. I have nothing but praise for this beauty that SlimJim and Z1BEBE resurrected. One of many they have brought back to their original beauty. I love all the customized Z's on this site, but seeing an original always brings up the nostalgia of days from my youth. Keep up the wonderful work Slimjim and Z1BEBE. It is appreciated and admired by all here.
