Whats your bike worth to you?
What would it take for you to sell one of your bikes? Or bike if you only have one.
I was out a couple nights ago on my not finished yet 78 650 c.
When someone came up and asked me if I would sell it.
I have a friend that will get cars, trucks, and motorcycles and fixes, cleans up and sells. Its his thing. He likes to have projects to work on. He will often sell at break even price just to get to the next project.
I have $2550 into the bike. I thought when I started it would be a fun project to work on with my boys. When finished I thought I would just try to break even and sell.
Ok well I passed the point of reasonable sale price (in my mind) a little while back.
With that said (and don’t tell my wife )<<<her!. I just can’t let this 650 go! I love my 1000 b3 and it is the bike I have always wanted. But something about this 650 attached its self to me? Its just fun to ride.
Well as I said, I thought I would just sell it when I was finished with it….but lucky for me it will never be totally done!
What would it take for you to get rid of yours…another project, the right price, need the money???? BTW he offered $2800 for mine.
Ahh the sound of a socket wrench late at night. haha..

Mine attached itself to me 35+ years ago; I cannot imagine selling it. I've ridden (not owned) a wide variety of bikes over the years, and I agree the KZ650 really is fun to ride - for me maybe more fun overall than any of the others I've ridden. Ed

something about this 650 attached its self to me? Its just fun to ride.
I have had mine only 28 years, and have a great time with her each time I'm out.
Don't think I could ever sell her.
Also have title to two more. Projects in the making...
Yours looks great wcysl.

My first ride with my license I stopped at the local coffee shop and I guy asked me what I wanted for her. I told him I had about $2400 into the bike, but I was considering trying to sell it at the beginning of next season and then $1500 was the least I'd be open to. He said, "Naaaah, I was thinking more like $800." Yeeeeaaahhhh, no. I agree that the kz650 is fun, mine just doesn't like 65+mph, it starts to vibrate, which I've been told is off, but at this point I've already over spent on the bike. I already have a XS1100 bagger in the stable and I'd rather try and sell the kz and move on to a sportster or liter streetbob project than chase down this issue. Great around town bike though, great combination of power, speed, and styling while still being pretty light and agile.

Looks to be a very fair price to me. With a clear title and good running condition you should get that with no problems at all. But maybe not on this forum. Most here like to score bikes that are cheaper but may require a little TLC or as a project. Even though in the end, it will probably cost them more than your asking price to get a cheaper bike in to the same condition, lol. I would say yours would go fast on eBay or maybe even CL.
Nice looking bike!
