What to do with the Spectre??

Got a 750 spectre sitting around but cant decide where to do with it. I have been wanting to do a cafe build but the spectre is a bit of a pig. Then thinking about a fighter but the shaft drive would be limiting. Already have a bobber in the works.......Open to suggestions.

I'm testing the waters here with this reply but.... What makes the Shaft Drive limited as a "Fighter" ?

If I built a street fighter I would want a wider tire and a different swingarm.....which would be PITA on a shafty

I believe a 140 or 150 is capable of being slid into the stock set-up... Besides if you're building a "Fighter" you'll want to be Shredding Tires not wiping down the sidewalls of a 240 Tire with Tire Black...

I wonder if you can use a swing arm from a meanstreak they have a wide tire and it's a shafty.

Maybe a dumb question but can you change the drive output coming out of the side of the trans and just change it over to a sprocket?

Reading back through your posts I see you're not sure which direction to go. Maybe a sit-down with a Pen & Paper to map out a plan and move forward from there. There are plenty of bike sites and forums out there to get ideas from.

I guess I don't really understand what you mean. The whole purpose of this thread was to gain ideas. I have another project in the in the works already (project BOB) I am just kicking around ideas right now for the other Bike I have sitting in the garage. I have several bikes that I would like to build. The two at the top of the list are a cafe and a fighter. Which I don't think this is a perfect candidate for either. Seems kind of a big Bertha for a nimble cafe. And if I went the route of a street fighter I would really like a 170 rear tire on it and a much more appealing rear swing arm.

Ok send the bike over to me, and I'll StreetFighter it up and send it back... You know after I put 10,000 miles on it.. :laugh:

took a quick glance at the bike....at first sight it seems I might be able to eliminate the shaft drive all together. Wont know for sure until I get the drive gear off the side of the trans.
