saxjonz wrote: Just wanted to say that after all of these years of being on this forum I have finally met a few of you guys and have to say that this is the best idea yet whoever came up with it. I, since I have gone on zrxoa with many of you others here, have noticed that this is the start of a great brotherhood in the makings.

You got that right, Sax.

Today was one of the best moto days I've had in ten years. It was great meeting with Lou and Saxjones. I know we will do some more rides together this year. Maybe as soon as next weekend. The weather was a bit cool. It started out at 34 degrees. I think it might have hit the high 40's on the ride home. Lou and Lawrence you missed a great ride through the countryside. After the "Rumble" Godfrey led 10 of us through the hills and curves only a local wold know on his KZ650 . We wound up at his house near Burlington and lit a bonfire and swapped lies for a couple hours and had a couple beverages before everyone drifted off.

The gathering of the Chicago and Milwaukee clans of the VinMoto org. was a great time. There were about 45 bikes there of all persuasions. I couldn't get my camera /phone to take pictures so I don't have any, but there was a photographer there who looked like he knew what he was doing. His pics will be posted to the VinMoto photo album. When I see them I'll forward or post a link. Also my partner took some with his phone. When I get them from him I'll post the good ones here.

It's been a long day for an old fart. I had a great time and am looking forward to the next segment of the relay. We'll probably be heading toward Iowa so we can get the Chicago and Marseilles contingent moving to ride support.

DaddyJama is up in Sheboygan about 40 miles north of me. I'll try to connect with him this week and then we'll go south and west.

Great! I wish I could have stayed. I really do. It won't be long, however, till I am free to ride wherever and whenever for a couple of months. Almost as good as it gets. :-)
My apologies to all of you guys for not riding today. It's not that I wasn't dying to just that I had to take care of some errands.

Really wish we could have done the ride with you guys, Tom, but I had an appointment before going to work. Seems like Saxjonz and I somehow made it from Kenosha to the south-west side of Chicago in about 40 minutes. Is that even possible?

I'm sure there'll be other Brat Stop meetings we can make. Maybe I can even get a Sunday off from work.

It was great to meet Tom and some of the other Chivin and Milvin guys, and to see T.C. Christensen again.

These will have to do for awhile then.

The photographer that was at the 'Rumble at the Brat' posted his pics on the Vinmoto website. Here is a link
www.vinmoto.org/gallery/v/VinMoto-Events...at+the+Brat.pdf.html

I'll post some comments and explanations here. Copying and posting the pictures is above my pay grade and computer smarts level. Besides I'm not sure if it's ethical since I didn't take them.

1. The poster for the event.
2. An overall view of the first row of bikes in front of the restaurant. That's me with my back to the camera on the far left.
3. ??
4. Looks like a Beemer.
5. There were a lot of nice bikes there.
6. Nice old Moto Guzzi.
7. Nice paint on a Beemer.
8. more on the Beemer.
9. ??
10. It' hard to recognize guys with the helmets and all, if I even met him.
11. ??
12. ??
13. Looks like he came from the Chicago area.
14. The old Guzzi again. That's me trying to get my phone to take pictures, Lou looking on to take the hand-off shots.
15. Guzzi with a hack.
16. This one reminded me of my KZ1000. Vetter fairing and luggage, well traveled. He's been to Wall Drug. Have you?
17. The front row of later arrivals. My Voyager is way back under the 'open 8am' sign.
18. Lou, getting ready to leave.
19. Me, Sax and Lou just before they left. Lou is talking to Ross, Ross rode with us to the bonfire at Godffreys Garage.
20. That's a case of New Glarus beer, a local micro brew and pretty tasty.
21. Tie that on tight and watch out for the potholes!
22. Beemer.
23. A Black Duc.
24. A spit polished Beezer.
25. A chopped Trumpet. He was doing burners in the parking lot.
26. Ready, get set......
27. The lineup going on the ride to the bonfire. Left to right, My Other Brother John on his red Honda Pacific Coast, me on my '91 Kawi Voyager, way back standing with his back to the camera is T.C. Christensen, in the orange helmet looking down, I don't know, in the orange helmet looking toward the camera is Jeff on a brand spanking new Triumph Bonneville, next is Todd on a beautiful, original '75 XS650, Russ (I think) on his Duc, Ross on his '73 Beemer R75, and or host at the bonfire, Godffrey.
28. Clyde, Ross and ? getting ready for the ride out.
29. Looks like Ross is tail end Charlie, TC hitched a ride.

This was a great ride through the twisties and hills.

My other brother John took some pictures and e-mailed to me, but they're all upside down. I'll try to fix that and post them later.

I'm embarrassed to say that it wasn't in fact a virus rather my son. He spilled a drink on the keyboard and it shorted out. Now, I just need to replace it.
More good times to come. ;-)
So many firsts with this child bring me back to my childhood. This morning the first was that he zipped up and well... You get the picture. I remember that moment in time.

This is the first video again.
It's the ride in Chicago 4/14/13.

This is the Chicago IL to Kenosha WI video. 4/21/13.
Saxjonz carried the flag.
I compressed a 1 hour ride into about 15 minutes, so it's like going at 250 mph.
It gets really moving around 4:50

Look out son, I see spots. The lines on the road just look like dots. :woohoo: :woohoo:
Made me think of the song,'Hot Rod Lincoln'.
I was just down that way again today. Went to Sears at Gurnee Mills to pick up a cargo box for my bike trailer.

Great video! Wanna ride to MN, ND, SD, and IA next week? I'm going if the weather cooperates. Gotta move the flag. :)

4 states ... that's all? Not even worth getting up for.

Sorry Tom, I'd love to, but I don't think I'll be getting much time off from chores etc. Still have to put my Dad's basement back together.

Is there anyone straight up in Canada? Hell they are probably still getting snow.

Canada? We had snow on the ground here in Kansas this morning.

Six more weeks and the days start getting shorter as we head back into WINTER!!!

I've gotten a request or two for another run of KZ Relay Ride t-shirts. I'll need to pull together 10-20 shirts to make it cost effect to place the order.

Shirts will be $20 shipped to the lower 48 states. XXL is $2 more. That just covers the costs of the shirts, if I make any money, it goes to kzrider.com

PM me with size, mens or ladies, and I'll send you payment instructions.

cregmanz is up in Winnepeg and would cover Saskatchewan but is in Europe for the month of May.I don't think waiting a month is a good idea. There is too much ground to cover out west. I can make the ride in 2 or 3 days, no problem.
