Looking at a daily, Kawasaki EX500

Does anyone have experience with the older model Ninja EX500 bikes? I found a deal on a 1987 Ex500 for 400 bucks. The owner says it runs and drives fine, but the carbs most likely need a cleaning, and probably just an overall cleaning. It seems like too good a deal to pass up.

I haven't had a EX500 But I had a EX250 and it was a great bike. I commuted on the freeway with it for over a year and put over 14K miles on it without a hitch. I took a bit of getting used to turning 8K RPM all the time but it would run 70-80 MPH all day long and would hit 100 with my 250 LBS on it. I know of a couple of people that had the 500 and they had pretty much the same experience. I would take one in a heart beat if I came across a deal.
