1978 KZ 1000 Ltd

I find it interesting that on-line resources of www.kawasaki.com only lists ebony as a color choice for the KZ1000B2 model. However, if you look at the microfiche (of which I have a copy :) ) for the 1978 model, it also lists 'cardinal red' as a color in addition to 'ebony'.

Here is a picture of what the cardinal red 1000 LTD looked like.

There were no color codes released by Kawasaki for any of the early bikes. The Cardinal Red shown by The Gringo is darker than the still available Cardinal Red (it's a Ford color). A good painter will be able to match it. One of our members (Laquerfumes) posted this info under KZ Information (then Filebase, then No Specific Year, then search for paint articles) above.
