Plastic grocery bags and duct tape come to mind.

I just wrap a grocery bag around all four. It doesn't have to be that tight a fit as long as you direct the spray carefully. Be careful pressure washing the engine. You don't want to force water and dirt past any seals or into electrical components. The wiring harness on your bike probably has many small cracks that can allow water into wires, plus none of the connectors are waterproof.

Btw, small sized latex gloves work well. Just wrap the cuff part around the base of the filter.

Use a degreaser, and a normal garden hose.

I agree with Terry and stonemaster. Use chemicals. They are your friend. Unless they cause cancer. Then, not so much.

when i washed a motor,i,d put s shop rag in the pods, then duck tape over, them.make sure your blow hole is coverd up also, your oil blow back hole.i would wash it,in 3 stages.1 hog wash,or brake cleaner,2 a soapy mix of dawn dish soap, and engine degreaser,in a spray bottle.let it sit on there for 10 minutes, cover the whole motor with this.then blast it off wiyh water hose or car wash,if you can, then some rebels, wax on wax off wow, baby look at that shine!you can use any wax.then a small buffer wheel on you drill on low speed.detail it.tape off the motor before wax n if you are painting the jugs..thomas 62864B) B)
