I know that in ND you can get a replacement title with just a bill of sale. If the guy holding the title he has to take you to court and contest the bill of sale which has to include his signature.

Here in FL only the person that the vehicle was last titled to can file for a lost title. I went through this with a bike I had previously. It had been put down but was fixable. I tried everything I could to get the title including sending registered letters to the previous owner, calling the DMV etc. and had no luck. The couple of times I got in contact her she'd say she was going to send it out but never did. I found out later that the reason she wrecked it was because she had uncontrollable seizures and had one while she was riding so I just got tired of trying and sold the bike to someone who was planning on making a pure race bike out of it. Good Luck!

Nice Steve haha.

If I knew something about US laws I'd help, but after two months it seems best to ask the police what to do.

Id just go and take some thing of his thats worth the purchase price of the bike. And tell him he can have it back when he gets his shit together. You can get a nice louisville slugger on ebay for about $20.This should also help the situation.

In Florida you do not need a notary for the title. What a douche bag for him to do that to you

when i was 22 and changing tires at a kawi shop, some carpenters a bit down the road building condos were whistling at my gal as she walked the dog while waiting for me to get my lunch break...she ignored em and kept walking....which made me laugh...i could see all this from the shops roll up doors....just as i was washing up and she was almost passed the job sight some dirtbag, mad that she was ignoring em,called her a pretty bad name from up on the rooftop rafters.
I went straight to rage and hoped on the nearest bike flew down to the job, skidding onto the kickstand and was begging this carpenter to please come down and out of the gates for me to pummel...he declined and was nervously yelling that he would beat my ass....so i said fine and told them (the whole crew was watching now)no need to come to work tomorrow as the whole place will be a pile of warm ashes......

rode back to my work, where a forman came pulling up to tell me to wait for the police who were in route......

Never used that line again...but the cops seeing my eyes and my girl telling them what the guy called her, took our side and told the forman his worker should be fired......

Not a single thing in that statement that the cops can do anything about, that's why presentation is crucial.

Look at my avatar, that's presentation
