AMA Vintage Days 2011 - July 22-24

FInally the AMA has released the dates for next years Vintage Days event at the Mid-Ohio racetrack.
July 22-24

The event is the biggest motorcycle event specifically for vintage motorcycle.
huge swap meet, vintage m/c racing, auction, museum, bike show and plenty of other entertainment.

The swap meet alone sprawls over 50+ acres.

We have been there for the past 7 or 8 years.

This will be the ninth year Jeff. Can't wait. I have been saving my change and have about forty pounds. :laugh:

Maybe you can confirm Jeff, but isn't Kawasaki the marque (brand) highlighted this year? It would sure be interesting if true. David

i am sure they figured this into account and maybe only some teams and fans will be affected...or maybe it was on purpose
I doubt many folks attend both events even if the weekends were sperate
but are'nt the AMA teams always the support races for this California event

at least the AMA teams were there for sure since 2006 on this weekend maybe longer

maybe we "ARE" getting MOTO II this yr as has been rumored for about 6 months...rumors here are hard to confirm...even my manager girl at the gift shop,a total bae btw, who attends event planning - t-shirt- and race sales items related meetings did not know for sure last week......

If this is true...my speculation....that you guys are gonna get those teams normally slotted for the U.S GP....then you will be getting an extra race weekend in 2011 there right?cool...check into that ...that means an extra east coast event maybe a first time kick off for the july...with added stuff/girls!!!!

And...if this is true then they may bring it hard,,,to thumb there noses at Dorna and Mazda raceway.....the Yamaha tent here is the main sponsor of the motogp trough 2014 and has always had top notch big fan events ,free posters with stars signings and free hats,posters,go carting with top legends......i wonder if the event being split among their gp in Zali and AMA winning season defense on your side of the U.S will bring you guys some of those goodies...cool stuff

on a sad note....Kawasaki did not even have a sales tent at the GP last yr.....this pic below is 2009
Yamaha has been going larger each yr and outdid em hard in 08 and 09...full football field sized areas with tents and custom builders award shows...parade of champions...sales tents...youth riding area circled with hay bales free to get your kid in gear and on a bike with a trainer for a free 20 minutes of riding instruction...no experience needed...the whole cigar......

Kawasaki did not even have a tent...good thing i wore my kawasaki green shirt....that way you could find me in the crowds in 2 seconds.....

i hope you guys get a Kawasaki tent back.....i think they did not show in Monterey because of the lopsided size in brand showings imo

AMA does not has not raced at the event in Ohio for the last two years. Roy

okay i see here is the schedule so far...if that is so then they will be running at seca...still i heard we might get moto2 and they will not release the schedule yet lemme check again..

I have been thinking about going every year since 2004...this year I have already told my boss I will be gone for a week in July...with Kawasaki being the marque, it is a once-in-a-lifetime event.
