Actually, the 750 twin was created to cash in on the popularity of the KZ900/1000's, the W1 was Kawasaki's answer to the 650 twins. Put a stock 77 KZ750 beside a stock 77 KZ1000 of the same color and a casual glance will tell you there are two KZ1000's sitting there. Period magazine road testers commented on how many people thought the KZ750 was a 1000.
My 750 twin is no where near the fastest bike around, nor is it the best handling (lot better than stock though), but it is a fun enjoyable ride for this old fart
