- KZ pilot for life.
I hit a slick spot while pushing the bike a bit hard.I tagged a curb and was knocked out on impact.I awoke in the hospital.Eyewitnesses said the bike flipped a few times into a tree.I was tangled up with it at first, then ragdolled down the road.I look like a car dragged me around the block.I was extremely lucky.
The bike wasn't worth more than a grand.Do i invest the time and money to get her back like she was? ..i'd have a classy, but underpowered bike with poor handling...or do i drop a little more cash for a newer ride.I'm not really asking, just thinking out loud.
You know what it's like to enter your garage and see years of accumulated parts with no bike ! ..it sucks,it sucks bad...all the sentimental value.
...i feel like crying, like my dog died.
I'm thinking about grabbing a naked ZXR1100,or another old one, like an 82 KZ750,or GPZ.I'm not to hip on a bike encased in plastic, but i love the performance.
What if i get a 99' ZXR? will you guys still talk to me? Will KZrider allow me to stay?

Yes,after 20 years of riding this KZ650,i finally killed it. Oh,it runs great, but has a tweaked frame, and bent forks...not to mention a crunched V&H pipe, bent bars,etc..I know i could hunt down a frame, and an old set of forks...even upgrade them, but i've been wanting a newer bike for some time.

There's nothing in the rules that says you must own one. As for talking to you.....Maybe?...We'll see!...Who Knows?

9/12/05,I high sided resulting in both arms in a cast, still have some plates and screws.
Have not put the bike back on the street,YET.
To many other prodjects.I have repaired the damage, not as bad as yours though.
As for a ZRX the handling and power is above almost any KZ.
Plus you can sell your old KZ parts to us really cheap.

If you buy a 99 zrx I'll still talk to you, although I don't talk much.
And don't worry about getting booted off the site, I bought a 2001 yamaha this summer and they let me stay.
