Thanks for all your advise.

I work on old Kawa a lot but I'm more in the 81-84 era.

Anything on the patch on the exhaust? Is this a usual spot for rust? have the same thing on each side.......

Buy it if she runs good, 20,000 mile on it is just breaking it in.

The patch on the exhaust I have never seen before. I know if only taking short trips in a car the muffler will rot from condensation not being heated up and burned out. Now the drill weep holes in them for this reason. Could these be weep holes? Bike looks to be in good condition and not a rustbucket. Anyone?

I got my 77 a few years ago and had the same patch job on the exhaust. Its a typical place for rust. @ grand isn't out of line for that bike. Offer $1700 but have the 2K on you and don't fight about it.

I've talk to the owner. He is the second owner of the bike. Got it 15 years ago at 10,000 miles.

Done probably 1,000 miles in the last 5 years.

Regular maintenance has been done over the years. HAs pass safety last year. Was always in a heated space.

GOt the original airbox. Missing left side cover but that it.

Original paint and no ding or rust on chrome. Exhaust as a few ding underneath where the stands hit.

FOr the patch, it was done by the previous owner. Don't knnow exacttly what it was for.

No leak on the motor and everhting work fine from what he's saying.

I thin it's a deal at 2K even if the market for collectable bike here in Quebec is not very big.

I'll try to have a look at it asap. 10 hours trip.....

I bought the same bike new in 1977.
I'd pay 2 grand in a heartbeat.
There was a little hole in the exhaust for condensation/drainage and it rusted thru, hence the patch work. I wouldn't worry about it.
