Kind of surprised with my bike! kz 550 vs zx6r....

So one of my good friends got a bike today...Its a 2000 Kawasaki ZX-6R... We had to ride! so were crusing around feeling spirited, and end up in a 30 mph roll off, wide open.

Surprisingly, I kept up right along his bike all the way up to 80 mph. Then he got it up to 13 grand and i lost him. Could have used another gear dammit.

Its not at all stock, but wow! These little bikes are great.
I have been riding longer, and it was his first day riding that bike. Reguardless im still impressed.

Not to shabby for a vintage bike up against a bike with some technology built in to it. Ya'll be safe and ride hard

+1, ride his 600 and bring a change of underwear. I had a 2000 ZX6R and that bike was nuts. You could easily "cruise" at 105 if you didn't keep your eye on the speedo.

I think skill level was the factor here..Kind of dissapointed him though lol. He is still learning, and wears a sweatshirt when he rides hahah.

Unfortunatly he wont let me ride it for some reason...oh well.

I wasnt paying attention to the gear or rpm at the time....i just went for it! ill guess i was at a higher rpm than him though, that makes sense.

Yes,it's true your old 550 is quick,very quick for it's day,but it's no match for that 600.You caught your buddy in a high gear i'm guessing...oh well,take it.Give him crap even.:silly:

those 550's are giant killers.my brother had one and i blew a couple 1000 engines staying in front of him.he used to outrun kz750 i-4's regularly.maybe he would just twist it harder.i will always have respect for them tho.

Well i think my buddy got the hang of riding that bike....Im smoked. I would most definetly tree him though...

Time to find a GPz 750 turbo or 1100.
